Full description and objectives

Future European workplaces need robots that support people beyond fixed automation cells: in changing, shared environments where tasks, tools, objects, layouts and priorities evolve. This interactive workshop asks how human task intentions can be translated into reliable multi-robot work: understanding what must be done, allocating tasks between people and robots, executing safely, and recovering when sensing, objects or actions are uncertain.

The workshop will connect challenges from manufacturing, construction, infrastructure and agriculture. It will focus on three cross-sector research questions: how to orchestrate heterogeneous humans and robots into trustworthy teams; how robots can interpret verbal, physical and contextual human guidance during shared work; and how AI-driven recommendations, AR guidance and robotic execution can become reliable action in variable real-world environments.

The objective is to produce a cross-sector roadmap of common research questions, practical deployment barriers, benchmark and validation needs, and collaboration opportunities for trustworthy human-centred multi-robot workspaces. The discussion will be informed by lessons from EU projects SOPRANO, FORTIS and AgRimate, without structuring the session as project presentations.

Although Data is not selected because the form allows only two areas, data-intensive capabilities are treated as enabling methods: digital twins, sensing data and deployment evidence for benchmarking, monitoring and validation.

The workshop addresses ADRF26 themes on ADR convergence, industrial translation and lab-to-deployment validation by comparing concrete barriers and methods across manufacturing, construction/infrastructure and agriculture.
