As highly autonomous AI-powered robots transition to industrial application, they face a critical hurdle: how to deploy and scale advanced systems when (i) the regulatory framework remains unclear and unpredictable, and (ii) the gap between research projects and market reach in the EU is still wide. This workshop focuses on practical, deployable solutions for scaling robotics within changing legal environments.

A feature of the session is a dedicated Policy Paper shared with all participants. This paper integrates Ethical, Legal, and Social Aspects (ELSA) with concrete recommendations for navigating ongoing regulatory friction and compliance ambiguity.

Bringing together diverse perspectives from industry, research, policy, and ethics, the session addresses the central challenge of balancing industrial scaling with shifting legal standards and societal requirements. Rather than a standard pitch session, the panelists will engage directly with the public, exploring future regulatory risks and opportunities, extracting shared strategic priorities.

Ultimately, this session bridges the gap between technical innovation, covering AI and robotics, and policy foresight, sharing with the attending stakeholders the insights necessary to advance the industrial uptake of highly autonomous robots in a still-evolving regulatory landscape.

Theme 2: Value Creation and Industrial Translation: A primary focus of the workshop is how to effectively scale deployable, highly autonomous robotic solutions. By examining the barriers to scaling, we address the practical "translation" of advanced robotics into concrete industrial value, focusing on how companies can plan for reliable, widespread deployment despite environmental and regulatory uncertainties.

Theme 3: From Lab to Deployment - Transfer and Validation: Transitioning highly autonomous AI-powered robots from cutting-edge research (here represented by PILLAR-Robots and euRobin) to real-world deployment is fraught with challenges. Our session tries to bridge this gap, exploring the pathways to safely move mission-critical autonomous systems out of the lab and into industrial environments where validation and trust are paramount.

Theme 5: Navigating the European Policy and Funding Landscape: The core challenge addressed by our interactive workshop is the unclear and still evlolving regulatory framework surrounding autonomous systems. Through a dedicated Policy Paper shared with the audience, this session tackles ethical considerations and helps stakeholders navigate evolving compliance obligations (such as the AI Act).
