Full description and objectives
Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) is a key capability for enabling safe and effective deployment of AI-driven robotic systems in real industrial environments. This strategy-oriented workshop builds on the European sister projects ARISE, FORTIS and JARVIS to explore how ADR convergence can be accelerated from research to certified industrial deployment.Together, these projects have engaged more than 64 SMEs and startups and funded 42 innovation projects across the HRI ecosystem.
The session will focus on how Europe can strengthen technology transfer and validation pathways for trustworthy robotics through academia–industry collaboration, open calls and cascade funding mechanisms that engage SMEs and innovators in real-world experimentation. It will also examine how rigorous validation, benchmarking and qualification frameworks such as TEFs, AI Factories and Sandboxes can support trust in mission-critical HRI systems.
Based on project experiences, the workshop will discuss how HRI technologies progress from lab prototypes to industrial pilots, including mechanisms such as joint development and pilot funding schemes. A case study perspective will illustrate an end-to-end pathway from research to validated and safety-assured deployment.
The learning goal is to identify available mechanisms for technology transfer and clarify pathways toward certified, safe and scalable industrial impact within the European AI, Data and Robotics ecosystem.The session will combine short framing inputs with interactive discussion to produce actionable recommendations. Particular attention will be given to lessons learned from more than 42 funded experiments involving over 64 SMEs and startups, highlighting successful pathways for innovation uptake, industrial adoption and market impact.
