Full description and objectives
Physical AI is the decisive enabler of field robotics, where robots must operate autonomously in the unstructured environments of energy, infrastructure, defence and agriculture.
The market opportunity is substantial. The global Physical AI market is projected to grow from roughly 0.9€ billion in 2025 to over 15€ billion by 2032. For Europe, the stakes are not just commercial but strategic: countering labour shortages, securing technological sovereignty against US and Chinese platforms, and building dual-use capabilities. Embodied intelligence will strengthen the industrial base, foster competitive SMEs and research centres, reduce human exposure to hazardous and arduous tasks, and consolidate Europe's autonomy in a defining technology of the next decade. This workshop will analise current challenges and potential opportunities to create a competitive European ecosystem.
Example of institutions that will participate (no-bidding) include: SiRobotics humanoid robots for field operations, CATEC and AICIA state of the art perception and physical AI for environment and surveillance applications, SINTEF use of Physical AI for I&M applications.
