Full description and objectives

Humanoid robots are rapidly moving from research laboratories towards real-world healthcare applications. However, developing successful healthcare robotics projects requires much more than innovative technology. Successful implementation depends on understanding clinical needs, hardware capabilities, AI development, human-robot interaction, stakeholder engagement and adoption within healthcare organisations.

This interactive co-design workshop brings together experts covering the complete innovation chain: from AI programming and robotics hardware to healthcare implementation and European innovation projects. Rather than focusing on individual solutions, the workshop aims to identify the key ingredients of successful humanoid robotics initiatives for healthcare.

Participants will actively contribute their own experiences, lessons learned and recommendations through interactive discussions and live polling. Together we will explore questions such as: Which healthcare tasks are most suitable for humanoids? What implementation barriers should projects anticipate? What hardware and AI capabilities are essential? Which organisations and stakeholders should be involved in future European collaborations?

The workshop outcomes will provide practical guidance for researchers, companies, healthcare organisations and innovation projects working on humanoid robotics, while strengthening collaboration within the European robotics ecosystem.
