Full description and objectives
Robotics and autonomous systems represent the physical embodiment of AI, arguably being one of its most technically challenging and commercially promising frontiers. Robots must interact with the real world by exchanging forces with their environment, objects and people in precise, adaptable and safe ways. In its Roadmap “AI-powered robotics – a strategy for Europe” (2025) Adra provided strategic guidance to the European Commission on strategic objectives.
The workshop consists of two parts. The first session “Trajectory to Deployable Robotics” will provide a forum to reflect on the outcomes and contributions to the robotics challenges and derive a trajectory for the further research and commercialisation of the project results. The following panel discussion “Scaling Robotics for Industry and Society” will look beyond research results to the next steps required for impact, including industrial uptake, commercialisation pathways and the conditions needed to scale promising solutions.
Why you want to join?
The robotics represents the physical embodiment of AI, arguably the most challenging sectors for the AI as it involves the interaction and exchange of forces between robots and the environment including humans. From the start of Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programms, the European Commission has made a significant investment in the use of AI in Robotics. ADRA has consistently provided the direction to the commission for these investments. The projects from these investments have covered a wide range of TRL and many of them have created a wealth of lessons learned, both in terms of success and challenges.
It is critical that these results are well and widely shared, particularly with the context of next Framework Program on the horizon. These lessons learned are indispensable to pursue the Apply AI strategy of ADRA and EU.
