Full description and objectives

The European Hospital of the Future represents a transformation towards intelligent, connected and resilient healthcare. Rather than focusing on isolated technologies, it integrates Artificial Intelligence, trusted health data and robotics into an adaptive healthcare ecosystem connecting hospitals, primary care, home care and citizens.

This workshop will explore how predictive AI, digital twins, interoperable health data spaces and robotics can improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, hospital logistics and emergency response. Participants will discuss how these technologies can reduce workforce pressure, improve patient outcomes, optimise hospital operations and strengthen preparedness for future crises.

Using an interactive roadmapping methodology, participants will jointly identify the technological, organisational and societal building blocks of the Hospital of the Future. The workshop will define priority healthcare challenges, enabling AI, Data and Robotics capabilities, deployment barriers and research needs.

The results will provide concrete recommendations for the ADRA Healthcare Roadmap, future SRIDA updates and European research, innovation and deployment programmes.

This workshop directly contributes to the ADRForum mission by bringing together researchers, healthcare providers, industry, SMEs, policy makers and patient representatives to co-create the vision of the European Hospital of the Future. Rather than discussing individual technologies, the workshop adopts a system-level perspective, exploring how trustworthy AI, interoperable health data and robotics can jointly improve clinical care, hospital operations, personalised medicine and crisis preparedness.

The workshop will identify strategic research priorities, deployment challenges and innovation opportunities that will directly feed into the ADRA Healthcare Roadmap and future updates of the Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA), supporting Europe's ambition to become a global leader in trustworthy AI, Data and Robotics for healthcare.

Running agenda
