Full description and objectives
Europe will not lead by adopting today's AI stack a little later or a little better than others. Leadership will come from anticipating where the technology is heading, including agentic and multimodal AI, embodied systems, new data architectures, inference at scale, edge intelligence and emerging compute paradigms, and positioning early. The session will ask where Europe can move first, where it can differentiate, and what must be built now to shape the next technology cycle.
The discussion will be structured around six pillars:
1. The next wave: from models to systems – which shifts will define the next cycle, and how quickly will they reach real-world deployment?
2. Interdependencies across the stack – how frontier AI, data, robotics and compute depend on one another, and where bottlenecks put Europe at risk.
3. Edge, embodiment and industrial strength – whether Europe's industrial and robotics base can become a platform for leadership in edge and embodied AI.
4. Data and compute for the next cycle – which architectures and compute paradigms must be designed now rather than retrofitted later.
5. Where Europe can lead – the niches offering a realistic first-mover advantage, and what Europe should stop trying to replicate.
6. Strategic choices for action now – two or three concrete priorities for investment, research and partnerships.
Why you want to join?
The workshop directly supports ADRForum’s theme by connecting AI, Data and Robotics around a common policy challenge: where Europe can move first, where it can differentiate, and what must be built now to shape the next technology cycle.
