Sotiris Makris

Sotiris Makris is Associate Professor at the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS), University of Patras, Greece. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, industrial robotics, digital twins, human-robot collaboration and intelligent manufacturing systems. He plays an active role in shaping European manufacturing research and innovation agendas through leadership positions in major European organizations and industrial initiatives. He has extensive experience in coordinating and contributing to European research and innovation projects in collaboration with leading industrial companies, research organizations and technology providers across Europe. His work aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced AI-enabled technologies in industrial environments and strengthen European competitiveness.
