Nelson Rodrigues

Nelson Rodrigues leads the Robotics team within CITEVE's Digital Transition Department, turning cutting-edge research into real industrial solutions for one of the world's most traditional sectors. He manages national and European innovation projects connecting industrial and academic consortia to develop robots capable of perceiving, deciding, and acting in real production environments. His work was recently recognised with the Texprocess Innovation Award 2026 (Digitalisation + AI category), for a robot-controlled T-shirt production cell combining AI-based fabric gripping with automated sewing. He is also a PhD Candidate at the University of Minho, researching Neuromorphic Computing, and lectures at the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (UPCA).
