Marcelo R. Petry

Marcelo R. Petry is a robotics researcher and educator working on human-centered intelligent systems. His work lies at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and extended reality, contributing to the deployment of advanced robotic solutions in manufacturing through European and national R&D initiatives. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Porto and coordinates the Industrial Robotics team at INESC TEC. His research focuses on augmented reality for human-robot collaboration, perception in mixed-reality environments, and intuitive robot learning interfaces. Previously, Marcelo was Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2014-2019), where he coordinated the Robotics and Sensing group at INESC P&D Brasil. He holds a Ph.D. in Informatics Engineering from the University of Porto (2013) and a B.Sc. in Control and Automation Engineering from PUCRS (2008).
