Ljiljana Stojanovic

Dr. Ljiljana Stojanovic is Deputy Business Unit Spokesperson for Automation and Digitalization and Head of the Smart Factory Systems Research Group at Fraunhofer IOSB, Germany. She holds a PhD in Applied Informatics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. Her research focuses on Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, industrial digital twins, and industrial data ecosystems, with particular emphasis on semantic interoperability, Industrial IoT, and AI-enhanced industrial systems.

She has been involved in numerous European and national research projects, serving as project coordinator and technical leader. She contributes to international standardization and industry collaboration in areas such as the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), digital twins, and industrial interoperability. She has served as an expert evaluator and reviewer for European Commission research and innovation programmes. Her work has resulted in around 100 peer-reviewed publications and significant contributions to the advancement of digital transformation in manufacturing.
