João Claro

João Claro is Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of INESC TEC, as well as an Associate Professor (tenured) in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).

He is the Director of the Doctoral Programme in Engineering and Public Policy and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Doctoral Programme in Industrial Engineering and Management at FEUP. At the Porto Business School (PBS), he acts as Chair of the Academic Council and Coordinator of the academic area of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

He is currently also the Scientific Director of the UT Austin Portugal Programme, which promotes international cooperation in science and technology between Portugal and the United States.
