Dr. Francisco Javier Pérez Grau

Dr. Francisco Javier Pérez Grau is the Head of the Perception, Artificial Intelligence and Aerial Autonomy Unit at CATEC, coordinating a team of over 35 researchers working on aerial robotic technologies. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Seville. He joined CATEC in 2008, and since then has been focused on advanced perception technologies and drone applications, including GNSS-denied navigation. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous national and European research projects. He also completed research stays at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Sydney, and the University of Zurich, working on computer vision, autonomous robotic navigation, and bio-inspired sensing technologies.
