Daniel Albuquerque

Daniel Albuquerque is an R&D Senior Specialist at EDP's R&D Centre, where he leads European innovation projects deploying AI and robotics in the renewable energy sector. He coordinates TALOS, a Horizon Europe project developing AI-powered tools and autonomous robotic solutions for the operation and maintenance of solar PV plants, validated through living labs across land-based, floating and agrivoltaic sites with a 15-partner consortium. He also designed and supervised the TALOS Open Call, bringing twelve European startups and SMEs into a €2M, nine-month support programme. Working from the deployment side of the technology chain, his focus spans use-case and KPI definition, technology validation and demonstration, consortium management and exploitation planning, bridging robotics developers and industrial end users. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems and an MSc in Energy Engineering from the University of Lisbon.
