Carlos Saldarriaga received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2021 from Stony Brook University (USA) for his dissertation entitled “Impedance Control of Robotic Manipulators and Synthesis for Dynamic Responses with Stiffness and Damping.” He has been with the CDEI-UPC Robotics team since 2025 as a postdoctoral researcher. He participates in the Discover Project in tasks related to the robot control and software. He is also a lecturer at ESPOL University (Ecuador). His main research interests include the dynamics and control of robotic manipulators, among other topics related to mobile manipulators and mechanisms, with several journal and conference publications including CDC, ACC, ICRA, and others.
