Carlos Bernard

Carlos Bernad is Chief Scientist in the DARWIN research group at NORCE Research AS, with more than 25 years of experience in applied industrial R&D. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and an Advanced Studies Diploma in Computational Mechanics and Automotive Technologies, and has been PMP® certified since 2013. His work combines technical development and project leadership across advanced automation, robotics, AI, smart machinery, and mechatronic systems. He has extensive experience in translating industrial needs into R&D concepts, building multidisciplinary consortia, and coordinating multi-partner projects. His current interests focus on the development and deployment of robotic and intelligent systems for industrial and construction environments, including infrastructure monitoring.
