Ieva Martinkenaite

Ieva Martinkenaite is spearheading the development of AI-powered business transformation in Telenor. Among her key responsibilities is the build-up and implementation of responsible AI governance globally across Telenor. Ieva’s work also involves advisory to Telenor top management on digital technologies and innovation.

A former leader of corporate Research and Innovation unit in Telenor, she is among the key figures in industry contributing to AI innovation development in Norway. Over the last years, Ieva built and led teams of AI scientists and engineers in Telenor, also holding several high profile regional and national appointments in AI. Among those are Board memberships in Norwegian Open AI-lab, Norwegian Research Council Advisory Expert Group on AI, International Advisory Board of Flanders AI, and the Singapore´s Government International Advisory Council on Ethical use of AI and Data.

Ieva has more than 15 years of experience in corporate business, technology development and regulation advisory. During 2018-2020 she represented Telenor in the EU High-Level Expert Group on AI which provided policy guidelines for Trustworthy AI. Since 2019, Ieva has been the AI task force Chair of Europe’s largest telecommunication association driving industry advocacy on effective AI regulation. She is a frequent speaker in high-profile conferences and events, a guest lecturer in Executive MBA programs, and a reviewer of EU-funded research and innovation programs on AI.

Ieva holds PhD in Strategic Management from BI Norwegian Business School (Norway) and a MSc in European public administration from K.U. Leuven (Belgium). During 2020-2022 she served on the Board of Telenor Denmark A/S.
