Anne Fleur van Veenstra is Director of Science of TNO Vector, Centre for Societal Innovation and Strategy. Her chair Governance of data and algorithm for urban policy is a professorship by special appointment of TNO, at the Institute of Public Administration within the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs of Leiden University.
The chair is also affiliated with the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities Centre for BOLD Cities. She works as a researcher of digital policy and digital governance for twenty years, having carried out a large number of studies for the ministries of the Interior and Economic Affairs and for the European Commission and the European Parliament.
Anne Fleur was a visiting researcher at Linköping University in Sweden from 2013 to 2015. Between 2007 and 2012 she was a researcher of digital government at the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of Delft University of Technology, where she also wrote her PhD thesis titled IT-induced public sector transformation. She holds a Masters of Science in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management of Delft University of Technology and in International Relations of the University of Amsterdam (cum laude). She is the author of more than 100 (scientific and popular) publications on digital governance, digital policy and public sector transformation.
